Memorial Day Cocktails
Well, the end of May is approaching us, and it’s time to celebrate Memorial Day, a day to honor all the soldiers who died while serving in the United States military. If you have a family member or friend who has served and lost his or her life, thank you, and God bless!
Memorial Weekend is a great time to celebrate, and it’s also a great time to get together with friends and family. It’s the unofficial beginning of summer, and if it’s a day at the beach, a picnic, or a backyard BBQ, let me help you celebrate with a big BOOM! Here are some of my fun cocktails that will definitely get your party started.
Captain America Shot
This delicious shot is a great way to start your party, especially with the movie that just came out. You just layer the ingredients in this order.
1/3 Grenadine Syrup
1/3 Blue Curacao
1/3 White Creme De Menthe
Serve in a shot glass and chug.
Frozen Blue Lemonade
1 ½oz. White rum
1 oz. Blue Curacao
3 oz. Lemonade Sparkling Ice
Combine all ingredients with ice in a blender. Blend on high until it becomes slushy. Pour into a glass, and garnish with blueberries.
Tequila & Watermelon Punch
This cool punch will spice things up while you’re barbequing in the backyard.
3 cups of Watermelon puree
1 cup of Silver tequila
½ cup of Lime juice
½ cup of Seltzer
1 Jalapeno, sliced
Pinch of Sea salt
Agave nectar optional
In a large bowl or pitcher, stir together the watermelon puree, tequila, lime juice and agave to sweeten.
To serve, pour into glasses over ice, and top each glass with seltzer, a pinch of salt and slices of jalapeno.
Well? What are you waiting for? Let’s kick off summer with a great Memorial Weekend, and get this party started.
