National Tequila Day

July 24th is National Tequila Day and its time to have the famous Tequila shot. Are you ready? Everyone should know this one. You dampen the back of your hand near the thumb, sprinkle some sea salt on it, lick off the salt, take a shot of tequila, and take a bite of a lime and exclaim, “cheers!” to National Tequila Day. Actually, really good quality tequila really doesn’t need salt or lime to be enjoyed. My husband and son like 100% Agave tequila, which doesn’t have to be expensive to be 100%.

Remember – “one tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor” just kidding, please drink responsibly.

In my view, the Tequila spirit is getting so much more popular these days and it’s not just about having a shot or a margarita.
Here are some delicious tequila cocktail recipes to enjoy:

The Famous Tequila Sunrise

Juice of ½ lime
3 tbsp. tequila
3 oz. orange juice
1 shot of grenadine

Fill a tall glass two thirds full with crushed ice. Add the lime juice, tequila, orange juice and stir; then float with a shot of grenadine.

Tequila Passion in Paradise

1/4 fresh Jalapeno chopped
1 shot of silver tequila
1 shot of passion fruit liqueur
slice of lime
sprig of basil
Fill a shaker with ice add the jalapeno, tequila and passion fruit liqueur, shake, add to your glass and garnish with the lime and basil.

Rosemary Peach Tequila Punch

2 peaches pitted and rough chopped
1 cup rosemary simple syrup
2 cups tequila 100% agave
1-liter lemon lime soda
Frozen raspberries to chill and garnish

Rosemary simple syrup ingredients:
1 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar
2 sprigs rosemary

1: Combine water, sugar and rosemary in a saucepan over medium heat.
2: Stir until sugar has dissolved
3: Remove from heat and allow to cool.

Rosemary Tequila punch instructions
